software/ pdas for monitoring cleaners
« on: August 18, 2011, 01:18:17 pm »
We have some problems with cleaners not turning up, turning up late etc. Does anyone know if there is any software or tracking devices etc out there that would help us monitor cleaner attendance, and perhaps work out payroll on this basis?

just get them to call in from a phone where they are working as soon as they turn up. Then from the same phone as they are about to leave. Only pay them for the time on site.

This is a good suggestion, but we have too many hours for us to do this, we would simply be taking calls from the cleaners all day and would probably have to hire a new member of staff to take these calls. I think it would be cheaper with a proper automated system in place.

Additionally, what software do you guys use for scheduling, we are looking for this too?

Hi Stuart,

I work for a software company - we have software that enables you to schedule your work and also works as a CRM system by holding all your customer data.

Check out our website - http://www.malinkoapp.com to see more information

In response to your query about tracking software - there are lots of different vehicle tracking solutions out there, but they wouldn't necessarily integrate with either scheduling software or payroll software, but they would be able to export a spreadsheet for you

We are currently looking at this issue for Malinko - our idea is that using GPS you could have a logging in and logging out process through a mobile phone app.  If the cleaner just calls you on their phone, how do you know they aren't calling from the cafe down the road?

Another aspect to this would be to have spot checks with your customers and make sure your staff know you do this, or even have awards for employees to encourage better behaviour

Thanks for this. It sounds good. Having read your website however it seems to state that this is for managing customers. Would it offer the facility for instance to plot the schedule for each cleaner, so for instance, we could click on a cleaner and see her timetable of customers for a specific week?

Hi Stuart,

Absolutely, it will do that.  The idea is that it integrates your customer database with your appointment scheduling.  So, you can view daily, weekly or monthly work schedules for your staff, and you can see job history for a specific customer.

Have sent you login details for a demo account, so you can see how it works.
