Converting a bought round to wfp
« on: August 10, 2011, 02:47:16 pm »
Got the opportunity to buy part of a round near me, but it's all done with ladders, anyone had experience converting a round they have bought to wfp, I know that changing my on round to wfp went ok, but I had been cleaning most for 7 years, new customers may not be as loyal if they initially don't like wfp

Some customers will just cancel because they don't like the look of your face. others will think your going to rob em. some will cancel due to the fact they don't like the fact their house has been sold. and many other reasons.

expect to loose around 10-20%

for whatever reason..

Just bite the bullet and clean them mate; very few will even notice how you've done them and even less will care less providing you've done a good job. ;D

Hi Lee,

Personally I would just do it WFP and be done with it.

Most people are aware of the pole system now, so any explanation can be done as you do it.

I think it would be more important for you to get the window cleaner you are buying the round from to introduce you to his customers. Also, try not to use the phase of buying the business or their custom, but rather that you will be taking the round over from ..............(windies name)

We took on a Trad round 6 years ago, window frames minging and windows cleaned to a poor state very irregularily.

It took us ages to do all these first cleans but the results spoke for themselves and we hardly lost any. At one stage I was doing 3 or 4 houses a day, but only left when the windows were streek free - none of this "it will take 3 or 4 cleans before they are perfect" spiel.

I was also new to WFP as we bought the system to clean these houses as most were dormers. So this was first time out as well with Ali Unger poles and a heavy Vikan brush on the end.

You have been WFP ages and will have the confidence to get on with it. Even if they are in when you clean, I would move onto the next house to give the last one time to dry off. Check them and then knock for your money.

As we have got more experience now, we very really have any issues with new cleans, other than it takes much longer to do them first time. The same will apply to you.

I done the same in November last year.

Approx 50/60 houses.

Explained and showed system carefully to all customers - the ones who were bothered.

Lost 0 .... till 4 months later and 1 cancelled as she didnt like the noise of dripping water.

Offered to use "soft" water but still cancelled but she was a smart arse nasty piece of work so happy to see her self cull  ;D.... picked up the 2 either side of her over the road since and love to let on to her

I have just bought a traditional round, im half way through it with WFP and going well so far ,the guy i bought it off took me round to all the houses to meet the customers to  explain the change over and method of clean those that were`nt at home were left a letter explaining things, only had a couple of calls from people that were not at home that were worried about the price going up!!! but the prices were pretty good so im keeping it the same.
The guy i bought the round off did a good job (frames and cills as well ;D) and i have found that almost all of them have come up really good, i also gave a guarantee i would come back and do any problem windows for free if called within 24hrs of clean and no calls yet!!

Picked up £13 monthly yesterday as well from this work ;D
