I have listed some of my trading conditions. PLEASE FELLOWS BE CONTRUCTIVE.
Terms and conditions of trading with Sam`s window cleaners

all window cleaning has a
NO QUIBBLE GAURANTEE
Call within 24 hours and the offending glass will be cleaned absolutely free

we ask for a 6 month commitment when we start to clean your windows. Window cleaning is an ongoing process to insure the best results. After that you can cancel at any time just by dropping us a note. At least 7 day before the due date of service.

Door step cancellations are not accepted as the costs of arriving at your address have already been incurred.

 Customers are requested to contact us if you will be on holiday so we can make the alternate arrangements to clean windows.

All payments exceeding 10 days of service will attract an admin charge of £2 and £2 every month there after.

All legal and other costs incurred in recouping none payment of accounts will be for the account of the customer /service receiver.

Please don't forget to use the reference box when internet transfers Banking.
If a reference box is not used on the web site I will not be able to recognize your payment and your payment will remain unpaid.
If you cannot find a reference box please phone me on my mobile 000000000000 so another system can be applied.

Scrap the customers contacting you whilst on holiday, they get their windows cleaned when theyre on holiday regardless.

It's guarantee not GAURENTEE

i have a gardener and also i have greenthumb who treat my lawn, if either of them turned up with a letter like that when i took up their services then there is no way in a million years i would even consider taking them on. all in my opinion go for t if you want its up to you

your letter will have the same affect as a scarecrow!

it is also illigal to say a late payment charge of £2 if ten days over due

7% charge after 30 days is legal but only if you put this on the bottom of the invoice

Wizkid I think English isn't your first language but I could be wrong but that is riddled with mistakes, to be honest window cleaning domestic really doesn't have to be that complicated, it isn't hard clean get paid repeat, if they mess you about replace and clean get paid repeat. Simplest business in the world. Not slating your spelling mine is bad sometimes as well. But some members over complicate this window cleaning lark a bit.

Colin my £ 2 charge is legal as it an admin charge and is on all my invoices. I have already applied all these conditions for 3 years.
I don’t think I should tell my customers they are Mad. to the fellow who said I should take his advice.

OP - your making things far to complicated - you cant back up most of those terms & secondly i could see most
people telling you to sling ya hook

try building up your biz on a more 'friendly' footing

I think to chase up unpaid invoices businesses are entitled to charge an admin fee, they are not allowed to charge penalty fees, such as what the banks used to do.

I have terms. Are they enforceable? No, not really, but what having them does is it sets your stall out. Maybe some customers might take the need to pay you regularly a little more seriously if they SEE you are running your business as a business and not as a hobby.

It's a waste of time, your customers will be pushed away not drawn to you.

As for the messers, put the price up to the point where it makes it less painful. You will loose most who want to mess you about. No-payers simply don't clean them if they havn't paid the last invoice. You may loose a couple of £100 but you are not obligated to clean for anyone.

Even the most fussy customer if they pay enough will seem like a joy.

Madness.........I've never enforced any conditions apart from a 'please pay within 7 days' on my invoices.

I'd stop making it so complicated and just concentrate on keeping your customers happy rather than scaring them away with conditions.

They get a copy when I quote. Also there's a web addy on the bottom of invoices.

I never have, Ive been going 14 years. If you knew me you'd know what sort of properties my target market is and it isn't £10 3 bed semis, this is how it is for the market I work in, par for the course.

As I said for me, its simply me setting my stall out. Im sayng I expect to be paid and I expect to be paid promptly. If a customer thinks that unacceptable it gives them the opportunity to say so.

I find just the production of my terms helps to keep it simple mate, they know how I operate they tend to co-operate.

It isn't bolshy, rude or over the top; its simple, polite, easily understandable and acceptable. Most businesses have terms.
