Any Idea
« on: July 21, 2011, 05:45:10 pm »
i'm sure it's something simple

doing a job today with my porty (prochem)  - the machine vacs kept cutting out as if the waste tank was full it would run for a few minutes & then start screaming

Now there was some foam on the top of the waste water thanks to 1001 but as was only a small job only extracted about a bucket full  - when i checked the waste tank it didn't look like the foam was getting out of hand just a layer on top of the water

i didn't have any defoamer on the van i dont use it all the time & must have left it on a job weeks ago

any ideas

Did you run the motors dry with the waste tank lid open? This can sort things out sometimes!

Lots of fluff on the filter around the ball float can make it cut out. Was it fluffy?

Was it 'losing' suction or simply cutting out altogether?
I thought along the lines of what Dave just said ie fluff clogging up the filter and chocking the suction from the vacs.

Thanks for the replies guys - re the soap Al already got my best bar of imperial leather in there  ;D

i'm just about to give it all a good clean out & leave vac on for about 10 minutes could be fluff never happened before though

it wasn't losing suction at all just the ball float raising up & making the vacs scream like the waste tank is full

Many Thanks

Is it a steempro. Sometimes on older models the waste intake elbow turns in the tank when you are fitting/removing the hose causing it to spray towards the float valve.

My machine had a massive build up,blocking one of the vac motors completely
