Hi, been asked to reseal a pattern imprinted concrete driveway that was sealed last year by another contractor with an acrylic but it flaked off within 6 weeks, so done some tests and come to the conclusion that it was sealed with a polyurethane sealer previously, hence the acrylic not bonding.
I know of a chemical that i can use but it's pretty nasty and gruelling to use, so was thinking of abrading it off, never done it before so any help would be appreciatted, i was thinking that maybe if I hire a floor scrubber with an abrasive pad would that d the trick? if so what type? Could i use an indoor polisher so long as it's not raining?

Maybe a ball bearing shot blaster for surface prep of concrete floors might work.

I have never tried this but Based on the fact that I stripped 5 coats of polyurethane varnish off a floor using Aqua Mix Sealing & Coating Remover coupled with pads and long dwell times.

I definitely think you will be able to strip it using the added power of an aggressive 60 or 100 grit Nokdown honing powder coupled with a tynex brush fitted on a rotary scrubber.  I would pre wet the areas first with Aqua Mix Sealing & Coating Remover if you need to.

hi carl you got any pics or videos of your soda blaster? what type of work do you mainly use it for? thanks

Its a Knighton/Westmin k200 which is a re badged Harmon - its not been out of the container for 3 years. I originally bought it to strip anti foul from boats when they are out of the water during the winter but it seems they wait till spring so they want it done the same time the pressure washing kick off - pressure washing is far easier.
