Cleaning Acid Etching Marks off Marble
« on: July 06, 2011, 02:36:42 pm »
We are often asked about etch marks on Marble. This ranges from floors, tables, fireplaces and even ornaments.

Provided the etch is not too deep it is relatively easy to remove.

Items Required

1. Aqua Mix Renue Marble Polishing Cream.
2. Spray Water bottle.
3. Old Soft Cotton Terry Towel.

Method

1. Make sure surface is dry and clean and free of any coatings (Sealers).
2. Shake bottle of Aqua Mix Renue well.
3. Apply a small amount to etch using a suitable measure commensurate with size of etch. (We usually use a teaspoon or table spoon).
4. Lightly spray with a little water.
5. Using your terry towel buff Renue into etch using a circular motion until the slurry becomes clear or dry.
6. Re wet with water and polish off with a dry terry towel and that's it.

You may need to repeat if the etch is deep but this process will take care of most light etch marks.
