Water level alarm
« on: June 24, 2011, 09:51:37 am »
Looking for some sort of device to alert me when tank in van is nearly full to save having to check on it or in case I forget about it.
Have found this
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Water-level-WARNING-ALARM-water-tanks-macerators-/150610612797?pt=UK_DIY_Materials_Plumbing_MJ&hash=item231117923d#ht_1264wt_983

But would like one with a remote unit to have in the house to alert me rather than listening out for alarm sounding from the garage.
Any ideas?

you could always bodge a wireless doorbell to the one you have already.

An intermediate fix is to get an electronic egg timer.  I know roughly how long it takes to fill my tank, so when I start filling it, I set the timer and when the amount of time has elapsed, it goes 'ding ding ding ding ding ding ding', and I go to my van.

It means I still have to hang around for a few minutes to get it really full to the brim, but it stops the water overflowing into the footwells of my van!  ;D
