How come?
« on: June 21, 2011, 03:47:32 pm »
"This forum should not be used solely as a medium to promote your own products and / or services."

How come this sentence is in the forum rules yet is obviously flouted by the big boys or those paying to advertise.
One company uses this forum solely for recruitment purposes, one moderator used to run his buisiness through the forum. The more I read the less I like this place. I've been here for over four years and the politics of this forum are becoming more and more bent.   :-\

There's plenty of forums without the politics,.. CIU is just the biggest (for now) so short of a mass exodus, admin can run the place however they want.

Yes, they can and do. Which is a shame really as it's lost the freedom of speech, the 'after work pub atmosphere" and all the humour.

Totally agree,.. but CIU has been "Monetised" now,.. its an income stream not a hobby, so its no longer treated the same way.  :'(

Sorry to dissapoint you but money talks.  Come on, you're in business you should know that.

The forum isn't bent, as you put it, if you want to think this forum as being bent you shold cast your mind back to when that

Jason 'Hitler' Williscroft was top of the tree. Didn't take long for him to move along once he'd starred in his own biographical video http://www.oakleywindowcleaning.co.uk/hitlershoover.wmv

All these posts in the last few days about Impact 42. So what if theyre doing whatever theyre doing.  What difference does it make. I cant be arsed to read the threads to be honest. There's the usual culprits bitching and moaning.

The forum is run the way it is by those who own/manage/run/support it. Thats their privelige because thats how 'it' works. If you dont like it just form an orderly queue and bugger orf.

its always been like this. its no secret the forum is owned by a company and is sponsored by several more. there are banners top and bottom and some section have sponsorship logos.
they cant say the hid it can they.
there other forums who do not have any companies backing.

What difference does it make who sponsors or owns the site, the fact is the company in question have done nothing wrong, and watching everyone get uptight about it is just a joke ;D keep it up
