starting up in glasgow
« on: September 21, 2005, 02:03:21 am »
hi there.
great forum
i just visited the chat room thinking that was how to post notes and ended up talking to myself. live and learn.
well, now on my feet i wonder if you can help. i'm thinking of starting up w/c in glasgow. i did a search on glasgow and there doesn't seem to be many guys posting stuff from here; there was one guy who mentioned something about agro: he move on to somewhere else. Is w/c mob ruled here or something?!
Anyway, i'm local to N/W glasgow, some well-to-do areas here to maybe well covered. looking to work part-time.
if anyone would like assistance with their's, show me the ropes etc -much appreciated. or indeed have some jobs to sell.
Glasgow...are you  there (and friendly)?!

Hi Gordons
Yeh i stay in Finnieston, just west of city centre -thinking to working north west. opposite dir to coatbridge!
Looking to get organised from now, ie get car fixed (or realise better to get van), get some training, get flyers, get eqpt...
Maybe not best time of year to start, but atleast make a start. Any ideas? Where bouts is your round? Know anyone working in n/w or what the w/c culture is like around ere, if thats an appropriate question!
Any advice or help much appreciated.
Ben-chan

I'm not sure but try Minuteman Press its next to KFC. I'm not sure what their prices are like. the weather we are getting just now does not exactly make it easy to start a window cleaning run does it? When are you planning on starting and where abouts? in Coatbridge or Glasgow or have you not decided yet.

hi matt. I`ve got 1 days work in Blantyre for sale if you need it. Sell cheap to help you start up.
i found best way to canvass was to go when most people are in : Evening etc.
Best place for business cards is www.vistaprint.co.uk. Much cheapness . Superb quality. Cards look better than leaflets and you cant beat the personnal touch.
Another tip . Don`t sell yourself short just to get work. You`ll grudge it later on.
Hang off on joining Fed. New one starting soon ,might be better ???
All the best
Paul
