Pricing a BIG job?
« on: October 09, 2005, 08:09:30 pm »
Hey.

Just wondering if any one could shed some light on pricing up a Big job, BIG for me anyhow!

The job is about 5 storeys high and there is about 500 windows in total? Every 3 months.

Access is pretty good. I'm thinking of using a 45' pole to do all the work possibly by myself. There is tap access for a DI tank i have. And i've got two 50m hoses to hope reach around the bulk ofthe job.

you need to price a job like this on an hourly rate. How long do you think it will take you? Is there easy access all round the building? is it near a main road? Also take into account that if it's 3 monthly then you would probably be cleaning the frames each visit  which is more time consuming.

Yeah,

access is pretty good but it would mean walking out into the road, so i'm presuming a big chunk of it would have to be done early hours of the morning!

I aint ever done anything so big. The windows and frames are absolutley filthy.
It is actually 9 storeys with over 1000 windows in total but the gaffer just wants as high as the pole will reach.

I do a couple of jobs where I need to stand in the road. I carry half a dozen cones and cordon it off with a sign at each end. Obviusly not on a main road!

think on how long you think it'll take

then how much you want to earn a hour

then depending on how much you want the job , if you have enough work etc

add 30 - 50 % to that

On the basis that using the loo normally is "spending a penny" then a Big job would be twopence or even threepence. ;D
It's a game of three halves!
