how much resin do you use per year?
« on: May 24, 2011, 03:06:51 pm »
tds is creeping up now.its coming out of DI at 004.its a monster 25L VESSEL.i will put this in front of another vessel ive got(which is a small 2.7L)full of fresh resin.until its coming out of the first one at the same tds as straight from my tap.then i just go back to filling the monster DI with fresh resin.

tap water is 30-35 most of the time.although is did go as high as 105 last year for about a month.

ive been WFP a year this month and ive used two 25L bags of resin at £70+a bag with vat.

ive just ordered some more from pure freedom.i use the mb-115.

ive also ordered another tds meter as mine keeps turning off!can you change the batteries in these things?and if so what type are they? ???

cheers guys

depends on how much water you are using Daz,

we use approx 2500 ltrs a week (average) which comes out the RO at 27 and a bag lasts around 5 months
i use 2 di's with the 2nd having fresh resin.

i would go give the di a good shake as it often returns the tds to zero for another couple of thousand litres - for this reason my 25 ltr di is only filled 3/4 full so i can lift and shake it.

My tap water hovers around the 300 mark so I use a well at 70 tds and just DI it. 1 bag of resin lasting about 3 months in both DI units.

None.

Rainwater at 007 or straight from the RO at 009. That's good enough.

I go through a bag a month!! our TDS out of the tap is 94 at mo but is rising 2 months ago it was 48!! but we also go through about 7-8 thousand liters a week   :o

I just bought 6 months worth of resin as its cheaper to buy in bulk  ;)

its worth buying in bulk you still would use it. as to the shaking of the vessel i usualy add fresh resin about 5ltres in the vessell a 25ltr one when the tds goes to 30.and give it a good stir.
