got one last week as we put a second van on the road so i went for a car battery to fill the gap until i bought a leisure battery at first it went dead after 4 hours of work but as i kept recharging every night it now last all day so i will keep on using it till i need to change and then get the leisure battery as im not sure if i could run a two man operation on it
i think its worth getting one especially if your short for money/or need a stop gap

A car battery isn't designed to be slowly completely discharged and recharged (one cycle). It's designed to produce enough cranking power to start the engine depleting it by 10-20% and then immediately recharged to 100%. Average car battery will complete about 10-15 complete cycles before the plates disintegrate and it dies. A leisure or deep cycle battery usually lasts upto 1000 complete cycles but if not depleted by more than 25% in normal use that figure can be multiplied by 4. I've used an AGM (Absorbed glass mat) battery for the last 5 years but have just replaced it with a Submarine Battery which weighs about 60kg. Well at least nobody will nick it
