I just signed up with vidahost. I think its about £30 a year just to host and they can transfer your domin nme over too so your bill is all in the one place. Great support from them too.

Hi mate,

To be honest, im not entirely sure. I used to have a free microsoft website that i designed myself, but i moved to a wordpress website, and i just host it with them. Basically wordpress is a design tool, so i design my site through wordpress not the host. I actually got a guy to redesign my site with wordpress so im not sure how he went about it but i know if i want to change anything on my site, i log into wordpress NOT the host.

All my email addresses are run through the host though and you have whats called a c-panel with the host, like a control panel so maybe if you migrated your complete site over, you could control it with the c-panel.

Best bet would be to email vidahost, thats what i did with all my questions before i signed up, they got back to me in about 10 mins. VERY helpfull!

Cheers,

Matt

I have recently joined vidahost.

You can alter your website as you feel fit with wordpress. You can either do it as you see it or alter the code.

Support is almost instant.

I think you host is treating you as an insurance company does, you won't change so they just stick up the cost. I paid less than 50 quidd for two years, also included url and email.

yeah vidahost is the one to go with. it may be from my posts that you've seen them recommended on here? I've used them for years and always top service. just added more services to my hosting arround cost me £5.49 would normally be looking at £40. they charge an honest price for the service provided, £200 is rediculous it's companies chancing that you'll just renew thinking that's the normal price
