Accident/sickness/injury insurance
« on: May 10, 2011, 11:43:58 am »
Can someone give me any advice or point me in the right direction regarding accident/sickness injury ins.

Im kicking myself for not having this inplace but you never think anythings going to happen to you.

I was assaulted saturday night and work is out of the question this week at least.

Its been a wake up call and made me wonder what insurance policy options do we have if any, for if something happened where we couldnt work again.

Thanks

I'm with Combined Insurance Company of America.
Last time I was off for 10 weeks with a dislocated
shoulder the cheque was on the doormat every time
on the exact day. No messing about, fill in claim form
and send with doctor's note and they paid out exactly
on thee due dates.

Without trawling back through bank statements I
am going to ring them tomorrow and find out.
Will also find out what I get as it's that long since
I've looked at my policy.
Can't even find one.

Sickness £132 per year.
Not sure all benefits but know what some are:

Hospital in-patient £60 per night.
If it's a critical illness a further £60 per night.

Convalescent benefit of £30 per day
Critical illness convalescence a further £30 per day.

Accident £156 per year

Pays out £360 per month after the 10th day.
Can't find the rest but will find out.

I claimed on this in 2002 for a dislocated shoulder
for 10 weeks and the cheques arrived at bang on
the scheduled dates.
Have had this policy since 1996 so it might be different
if joining now.
