ther are so many and we all have many ideas on whats best . but before we all start on it depends what carpet fibres is it woolsafe  and more, lets think if a company found it beneficial to supply one does it all. and in thie scientific day and age i am sure they could, whilst good for us it wpould be lousy for suppliers. i dont think they should be taking ud to the well time time again. boycott some of them. till they start telling us the reality.go on then

Anyone with even an elementary knowledge of the chemistry of cleaning will know that the nearest 'product' to the cure-all is......................... Water.

Different problems require different solutions. That is a fact.

To attempt to combine all the requirements into a single product can only result in conflicts - it cannot at the same time be acidic, alkaline, neutral, ionic, non-ionic, cationic etc.

Micro-splitters do tackle a wide range of soils very well, but the day of a single-chemical van has not, and probably never will, come.

PS. Before someone else points it out, a solution with a pH lower than 7 can be an alkali.

one chemical to rule them all? possibly not for spotting specific stubborn stains but maybe for general cleaning. liquid formula 90 is about the closest i have used. woolsafe, variable ph, v low residue, stain protection safe. i do think that the suppliers that devise chemicals are providing woefully inadequate instuctions/contraindications. it seems by adding always pretest and proffesional use only they excuse themselves from any bad reactions in use. ecogent is also a very good product. as you can see i like chemspec but find many of their chemicals overpriced. i beleive doug h has experience of creating these products. how much time is spent on their development. what would be a typical cc detergent make up. many dilute at 1 -100 for ease of use what is added to make this possible. another type dilute at 1-333. f 90 has several dilutions( unbuffered?) which is the detergent with the least filler is it powder or liquid? should the ncca be providing some independant testing a sort of which chemical if you like. sorting the good from the bad. this would kick manufacturers right where it hurts.

The NCCA are not into the testing of chemicals... by reading peoples comments on the forums you will very soon see that most cleaners have their own preferred chemical.

e.g. there is one very well known spotting chemical that is widely used by cleaners in the UK..personally I can't make it work for me....doesn't mean to say that its no good.

As professionals 'we' make the chemicals work by our preferred techniques and machinery plus our experience of course

I prefer to use powder detergents and always use Craftex Premium Clean
£54 for 25Kg tub . you can vary the strength but 60 -75 g per Ninja tank does a wonderful job.

Their Top grade powder is very good, but i don't use it as i find it very dusty,
and liable to be inhaled whilst scooping out.

The premium powder is all i will use , very rarely pre-treat stains,

Added selling point it contains a Bactericide,

Top grade is good but whenever scooping if wind was blowing i would occasionally get wheezy, And thought **** whats this doing to my Health?

I know many cleaners very happy with top grade but it's not for me.

I prefer liquid dissolves better, no sediment in the bottom of tank. Each to the own!

Have never suffered any sediment, both powders dissolve completely even in cold water. the only time there is any residue is if spilt on machine casing when filling, and this will wipe off even if dried with a damp cloth.

If you don't believe me Craftex sell 5Kg tubs, try it you may be surprised at the results you achieve.
The liquids you use may be fantastic but i've tried several different cleaning agents and am a firm fan of premium clean.
