Anyone paying flat rate for Vat?
« on: March 18, 2011, 01:06:14 pm »
Is anyone paying the flat rate for vat?
If there is anyone can you confirm what the rate is for window cleaners and do you find it beneficial?

Thanks

Terry

As already said 12% of the gross amount payable to HMRC. You can find this on the vat section on the HMRC site.
If you have large capital expenditure you may be able to claim the vat back on this, but not on everyday purchases. HMRC site for Vat is really informative. Being on flat rate keeps your paperwork to a minimum too, which is a must for any small business, as much better to be out earning, than in doing admin :)
