DONT BUY A MERLIN
best I ever got from a supply of 260 ppm was a product tds of 30 +
terrible waste ratio, this ro was designed as a simple stand alone domestic unit.
I now use a 4040 but would choose a 300 gpd ro over a merlin if those were my two options

I loved my Merlin ! - in use most days for 2 years -  320 in, with a proper booster pump i wa getting 9 out and giving me 100 ltrs p/h

yes they are more wasteful but at least your not waiting 3 days for a tankful of water

Never argue with an idiot, they will only bring you down to their level, and beat you with experience

what do you use now then darren ?
granted I could have bought a booster for it, but it was early days for me and was budgeting, made a lot of bad purchases back then  :-[
incidentally I still do not use a booster pump but the hf5 is a brilliant bit of kit 12 ppm out at up to 200lph.

To the original poster , I just think a 300gpd unit is more cost effective, cheaper on parts and adaptable if you wish to add to it and up the production rate, but guess it depends on your circumstances and how quickly you need to produce pure water and how much (if any ) you can store statically.

Yep nothing wrong with the smaller ro units if your water demands are low.

producing 003 @ around 130 ltrs p/h

why ?

because the membrane is inside a huge torpedo casing and the garage selling the van
didn't know the difference between trad window cleaning and wfp - to them it was a windy cleaners
van with a rather large tank and loads of blue 'funny type' bottles inside...

if you know how to identify the membrane i'll let you know what it is !
