newbie not even born yet

hi all i would like to start a window cleaning business just 1 day aweek to see were it takes me.i work 4 12 hour shifts a week at the mo with 4 days off.could anyone help regarding geting customers,and how long would it take to fill my day,i know its a subjective question but personnal experiences might give me an idea.as a matter of interest im from middlesbrough.thankyou

hi dean and welcome,
 the best way of getting customers is to go knock on doors, but if you get some flyers/business cards printed you can drop these aswell.
 best advise would be to practice your skills and dont under price your new jobs  just to get them, you will regret it in the long run.
 find out what the going rate is for window cleaning in your area.
 how long will it take to get the customers ????  it is alot harder in the current economic climate.

thanks steve im considering goiung on a course to learn all aspects of cleaning and the running o the business,i have decently paid job but hate it and would build the business slowly till hopefully i would have ewnough customers to wrap so any advice would be more tan grateful cheers

my partners been canvassing these last few weeks, picked up loads of £20, £25, £28 jobs, so theres loads of work out there, weve added £2.5k so far, £520 just today just 1 hr canvassing, 1 guy did come up to me in the street, he owned a shop wanted it done £10 per month, just the front. one of the jobs was a recommendation though.
