A bit more on the newspaper thing

I live in a huge (4000 houses) new built estate

prime leafleting country in other words. In the 18 months I have lived there I can honestly say I have never had more through my door each week than here, I keep meaning to count them it must be 50 per week.

That considered I am someone with a business built on leaflets and am interested in others that come through my door

1 If 1 or 2 come through I always look

2 If 4 or so come I might glance

3 if a handfull come I put them in the bin every time

4 I get the free news paper, sometimes I read it but ususally it goes in the bin and if there are leaflets in there I NEVER look at them.

if you can get 5 -10 houses from it your doing well but once your working at the 5 - 10 houses others will see you and you may end up with alot more from that.

get some of your flyers and go down the roads you already do - sure theres a few houses in those roads you dont do yet.

put a bit of card on the top stating the very satisfied customer you already have in that road and then hopefully you will pick up the odd few houses you dont do in those roads thus making your round more compact and work better for you.

You can expect an average return of 1%-2%
Your costs should be in the region of £15-£30/1000 leaflets so say if you charge £10/job this would give you a good return on your initial investment
Repeat the process every 6 months and get your customers under contract
A business is only worth what is on paper
A business cannot be given a value on goodwill

Well that's how most domestic rounds are valued isn't it ???

Thats what he is saying,..

its not a business until the contracts are signed, ... and most dont have them,  meaning its not a real business, therefore , when you sell your round, you can only get 2x - 3x  4x ... cleans....

goodwill rates.

Ive dropped about 100-1500 and managed to get Dr Windows about £75 worth of work from it  , i dont think its more so the return i think its more about getting the correct flyer and information on the flyer...

Finding an area without a wc is the best bet , BUT i posted some leaflets yesterday (250ish) and within a few mins of posting a flyer through a door i have a phonecall of an elderly woman- nice £10 clean ...
