Van insurance
« on: February 08, 2011, 10:07:20 pm »
Hi all

Who would you recommend for van insurance? I've been with Commercial Vehicle Direct for the past 2 years and now they want £150 more than I paid last year. Robbing b@#*ards.

I have seen some good deals on Tesco compare and I am being hounded by sales reps because I've filled my details in on Vancompare.com.

Help!

My insurance is due end of the month and im wondering what to do.

Im going to be getting a car as well in the nxt month or so, will i be able to add it onto my van insurance?

Now the cheapest quote ive had so far for van is 600, ive priced up motor trade ins and cheapest quote was 950.

Never had motor trade ins but am i right in thinking this would cover me for my van and car, would this be a better option? what does everyone else do?

One tip on comparison sites NEVER fill in your correct contact details if just looking at prices. The above is what often happens.

Even if they are both in your name, as opposed to one in your's and the other in the company's, You will have to have two seperate policies. You will find however that you'll get discounted on at least one if not both.

Try Tesco (usually good but will not insure all vehicle types) and Aviva Diirect. Both will beat your best so far.

Think bike recovery services are all pooe.

I had a puncture last year, called at 17:45, got with me at 21:30 after loads of calls, back on road at 22:00, froze my n u t s off all the way back to the Midlands from Blackpool with a temp repair on a trashed tyre, sacry stuff too.

To add insult it had been a brand new tyre with only outbound mileage!!!!
