Agree with post about buying a well known make of rotary.
You cannot go wrong with a Victor or Numatic as they have been around for years and are tried and tested.
You need to know that spares are readily available which is probably not the case with  the cheaper makes.

My Victor is over 25 years old, and I brought it second hand for £15 at an auction. It gets a coat of paint now and again and is Bullet proof!

Got a builder wanting me to quote his flooring too now, will def be getting a machine once my overdraft is paid off  ;D And I will start to push it more, there are more carpet cleaners round here, than hard floor people. And it`s much more money, using equipment that rarely goes wrong

Hi Mark,

I will happily lend you a Numatic machine if you like?

No rush to return it.

Let me know.

Cleaning a Ceramic or Porcelain tiles floor, is simply about covering the area with an effective cleaning solution (take your pick) by mopping or spraying, leaving it to dwell, then agitating using a hand or machine brush, with a grout brush on Grout lines. Then a thorough rinse and vac, or in one with an SX12 spinner.
The use of Blowers and dry mopping help remove puddles and effect a fast dry.
Dealing with natural stone is somewhat more involved.

Well I must say I was not overly impressed with the results from using pads, bought a blue and a green one, started with the green.
I was using Jangro hard surface cleaner,as that is what the guy`s recommended.
I ended up on my hands and knees, with a small wire brush, brushing them clean,I am assuming they will dry paler than they were when wet ?

Customer was over the moon, started at 1130am packing up by 430 £300 in my back pocket, for all carpets and kitchen floor, had said that if they were not 100% happy I would go back and have another crack at it

To be honest when you said you were going to use pads, I was wondering how they were going to get the grout clean, or even reach it. These jobs especially on manmades are simple and easy with the SX12. Hope you didn't scratch the tiles with a wire brush, cause it will show once dry.

It was a special grout brush,so only just wide enough to do the grout.
Should have brought a brush for the machine, going to buy one in the next week or so,taking more bookings for it,the other grout I am going to be cleaning is more the commercial kind, more like cement than grout

Make sure you get a anti splash skirt if using a brush...Otherwise you will splash walls, work units etc.
And find a better cleaner. I only use Aquamix cleaners, Mainly Aquamix Heavy duty tile & grout cleaner and always get brilliant results. Just make sure you give it plenty of dwell time...Sometimes 30 mins bit of trial and error but the more you do the better you will get.  ;D

Cheers Sherco !!

Will get some decent cleaner, instead of using hard surface cleaner, which I personally thought was not up to the job, have not had a call back today,so I am assuming they were happy, they were not the sort of people who would just let it slide, both Gp`s.
Going to make the rotary my next business purchase,my overdraft is gradually going down, once my Visa payment acceptance is up and running it will all be ok,as I will be able to take the outstanding money owed to me since Dec 23rd...

It`s much harder work than cleaning carpets though,so def think the £1 ish per square foot is justified,I have no idea what it cost to re grout per sq ft,or anything like that,so it`s going to be a steep learning curve, but with the help of all the knowledgeable peeps on here I am sure it will be fine, nothing like flying by the seat of your pants

Tiling Logistics do training and are highly recommended on the CCDO board, send an email to tilinglogistics@hotmail.com and tell Kevin Martin if you are interested in the next one,  sometime in April at Solihull, 2 days for about £300 I think it is.
