I tried wfp for 2 years, never got on with it. Too much hastle and expense for the extra speed. been back trad for a year, my custies never rated it either.

i do go back to trad on some downstairs work when its really cold and i have on occasions used a trad pole on some work when its too cold for wfp.

as for goin back to ladders NO NEVER!!NOT FOR ME!!

IMO wfp is much safer and does a much better job in the majority of cases esp when they ve been cleaned 4 -5 times with the pole.

if going back to trad due to health problems then i would consider it if it meant i could carry on working.the problem being would be a scaled down service due to not being able to clean the awkward windows that i presently clean with wfp.

a thread the other day mentioned some glasses you can buy which have mirrors on or something that lets you look up without bending you neck!

keep active and dont always believe the doctors.usually its all doom and gloom and worse case scenarios with em!keep active and use the lightest poles and brushes you can.

Hi Dan,there`s quite a few jobs I`ve gone back to `trad`after converting
To WFP.
Mainly cos`it`s quicker by `trad`,much quicker in some cases,also ground
Floor large plate glass especially,soap up `trad`then pole em`with a 20 inch
Plus squeegee blade on an Unger zero degree handle.
I`ve one commercial job I`m saving approx.50 liters pure water and it takes
Half hour less to complete.That’s just ground level though.
Another reason I did it also was the amount of hydraphobic glass there is
These days.Fiddleing around ages rinsing for a spot free finish,much quicker
To `blade`.

im glad this question has come up as i`ve got an area where wfp is a pain in the ass because of the way the estate is set out, everyware else im happy with wfp but have a choice between selling this bit of work or doing it on ladders. Its only 2 day per month but i`ve not been up a ladder for a year.

I went back to trad after about 5 months of WFP.

I weighed up the pro's and cons of both and found that trad suited my round better.

When i pop on this site now, i'll see loads of posts about fixing problems with hoses, tanks, filters, batteries, freezing etc.

Too much potential time wasting/ expensive hassle in my opinion.

As for the safety aspect of ladders, i have worked in all this icy weather with spikes and ladda limpets fitted.

Even on the slippiest decking i've felt 100% secure.

Again, only my opinion but i've never regretted going back to trad.

When i weighed up the overheads involved with wfp and now my only regular investment is fairy liquid and rubber blades, it made perfect sense for me.

its amazing how opinions differ, i cant imagine going back to full trad, wfp is to easy. Yes there are more overheads with wfp but the end result (profit) is far greater than when i was trad. People always say that the custys prefer trad and i found this to be true for 5% of my round which i lost when changing to wfp but then gained 30% of new, bigger better priced and more exclusive work. All in all i wouldn`t consider myself running a proper business without wfp.
