Reducing water consumption

I need to fit a shut off valve in the van to restrict the water flow to the brush as I seem to be using loads.
Is it best to put it before or after the pump?

you can put them after the pump and redirect the water it the pump feed line i think, that way you can the tap to control the flow at the brush.
Have you not got a flow controller?
