I'm interested as to what out of a spare of every connector and clip along with a decent toolkit I will drop with experience...  I guess you're saying there are items which will never fail.  What are they?

Also, as I now own a full set of spares, all I'll be doing from now is to replace anything I use.  By definition, those will be bits that have failed, so I can't skip buying them.

Why?  What's the point of having them, then?

I'd be doubly hacked off if something failed and I had the spare at home.  I could be ten miles from home, so I'd waste an hour's driving to get home, get the spare out of the shed and drive back to the job.  I'd rather have it on the van.

Seriously, tell me what spares I should leave at home?  You're implying that it's an experience thing, so give me the benefit of your experience and tell me which of my spares I won't need.

I've been wfp for over 10 years and i carry loads of spares. As Vin said,everything but a spare tank. Clips,connectors etc will all fit in your glove box. There are a couple of window cleaners in my area who don't have a spare anything and they always ring me. The other day a goose neck, someone else 'o'clips. All these bits are pence. Better than driving all the way home. Imo.

I've even got a spare van. I needed it when i used to have a Trafic
