He also charged us £105 to do that so as we're mates ill call it £50

If it is a condensing boiler, check that the pipe outside has not frozen solid. A plumber that I know told me that this is a common problem at this time of year.
I can remember when waking up stiff in the morning was a good thing.

Sounds like the thermocouple to me - only a few quid so start there before moving onto big bucks

As suggested check the pipe outside (if it has one?) Thaw it will boiling water then insulate it, we had same problem last year and that's all the plumber did to sort it!

Get it covered like I do. I pay £5 a month with Npower which covers the boiler, rads, fire, electrics, drainage, water etc. Usefull if boiler breaks down. A massive bill if your not covered.

Tried the kettle, but apparently not a condensing boiler. Thanks for for all your help lads.

Too cold for me to work so that side of things was handy as i was able to be here.

Below freezing, i'm not sure -2?

Van okay, worried about customer perception and leaving ice.
