2" Glided wand 1 st go...
« on: November 22, 2010, 08:41:10 pm »

Thought I would share my experience this morning.  A  fellow local CC has very kindly lent me his 4 jet 2" bore Westpak whilst he away on hol.  Started large pub dining areas with my regular 2 jet 1.5" wand hooked up to my Prowler running 4-450 psi via usual 50ft + 10ft 1.5 whip hose. Did about the first 40m2 and result  was as expected very nice.  Switched to a full 2" hose with the Westpack and turned pressure down to just under 300 and couldnt beleive how easier the same result became!!!! much better flushing same heat and very pleasing vac even the Prowler sounded happier - "unleashed" almost! did the same sized area again in just over half the time!!!
Really want a 2" wand now tho only for the bigger jobs as still like the flexibilty of the smaller bore whip in confined landings bedrooms etc...
Anyone got a decent quality 2" glided wand surplus?!?!?  :-) if not  will be getting a new one something like the Samco with bypass.

Regards

Thats exactly how I felt when I changed the Scorpion from 1.5" hose to 2" - it began to breathe easier, so I can well imagine how the Prowler felt when you went to 2" all the way.

Why did you knock the pressure down. You should have wacked it up to 600. Thats what the machines designed to run at. You are ok to use a wand without a bypass as long as the front machine bypass is slightly open.

With 4 jets same size as in 2 jet wand any more pressure would have flooded the carpet, even at 250 - 300 it was the perfect amount - the bypass i like for emptying the cold from the solution lines spesh on longer runs so can start cleaning hot - feel its also safer to let Prowler warm up with valve slighlty cracked.

Looking for a wand similar to westpak tho bit shorter I am no short stop at 6ft but the westpak must have been designed by someone around 6'4" to make it fuly comfortable to use

you will have dificulty in finding someone who is going to part with a 2"  bore wand. There are too many people after them.

Cheers will have a looksy at the Evo. In talks with an american firm who are offering me a 2" Titanium with a self fit bypass kit very reasonably priced too! just want some quality reassurances and that a proper glide can be supplied for it.
