Prices for leaflet drops. What do you think?

I don't know about you people on here but I think these prices are way too expensive. I think the company is a franchise. However the bloke that keeps sending me these emails is quite local to me.

OMG what a rip off, I think its safe to say that there is no other window cleaner on here maybe even accross the country that has delivered in bulk as many as we have and I can say those prices are a complete joke!

I have a team of 5 independant people that I have built up over the years. they charge per 1000 between £20 and £35. the guy that charges £35 deliveres only mine (solus) and will go where ever and when ever I want.

I have used royal mail in the past who delivered 120,000 for me in 2007, even they only charge £35 per 1000, and will be posted with the mail and up to 2 other leaflet items, neither will be from the same industry.

Tell us how the 2007 campaign went lee?(please)

Did you alter leaflets/approach after feedback? Did you learn anything or was it as you expected?

How did you ensure proximity?Or did you just decide a block of work would be worth travelling for?

it went ok but could have been better, for a cost of £7,500 I added £70,000 to my yearly turnover on just window cleaning, on top of that there were gutter and con roof cleans ect.I had predicted double the result, but it was a learning curve.

I did alter the leaflet as I got carried away with the design I used making us look too expensive and large! a classic business mistake on my part, I should have remembered that the goal of the leaflet was to get people to pick up the phone, still the result was good but probably could have been better.

Royal mail campaigns are done by postcode area and sectors, you can decided when and where they go and how long it takes to deliver them, I had 120,000 delivered over a 3 month period of the summer.

I pay a guy £20 a week for 3 hours of leafleting,  he does just the 3 hours each week but it has bought in quite a few jobs especially gutter jobs.

You should budget for £25-£35 per thousand. The prices on that site are hard to justify in my opinion.
