what, to go with all the other letters they get from other companies = junk mail.

yes its good you are trying to branch out a little and get more work but i think if you sent 100 letters out, you would be lucky to get 2-3 replys ...

maybe phone them or pop in to the building, flyers ...

dont get me wrong it cant to any harm in trying but its prob a waste of time mate.

people send mail for a reason - IT WORKS

okay alot these days is percieved as junk but as you rightfully said that 2-3 replies are possible, they could be big jobs 2-3 jobs monthly in commercial can easily be worth 10 k a year

flyers are junk mail too?? and popping in  is not always economical it involves time, fuel , lost working time and no guarantee the decision maker is around

well thought out mail can be great and is great

go for it i say

dont check every idea on here mate as someone will always have something negative to say, its your business go build it, try and if you dont succeed try again ;)

Dear Sirs

Your company name Service is a local family run business and have been cleaning windows in the domestic market for sometime; we have built up an excellent reputation through hard work competitive prices and good customer service. We are now expanding and are seeking contracts for work with local businesses.

Customers and visitors to your premises appreciate a professional image and if your windows do not shine what message does that send to them. It is time consuming to clean them yourself and expensive to have a contract with a large multinational company. A better alternative is to have them professionally cleaned by a local independently run company like company name. Our Window Cleaning service is competitively priced with an average shop front window costing as little as £?? Per week to be cleaned.

We use either the traditional method or the water fed pole system to clean your windows. Each of these processes leaves your windows squeaky clean. We can also clean the inside if your require.

We also offer a full money back satisfaction guarantee, just call us and we will return and clean your windows again for free and also refund you in full.

We value your business and to secure your custom offer to clean up to 15 square meters of ground floor windows free of charge so that you can judge our service at no risk. We hope you will consider using our service. We have enclosed our business card with this letter for future reference.

Yours faithfully

I am writing to you because I am sure that our services can be of benefit to you.

We offer a comprehensive window cleaning service to commercial properties such as yours throughout the region.

Looked through your back posts and notice you are from Bishop Auckland.

I've just got back from there (does the sun ever shine up there? - been up that way three times this year and always miserable!!).

I'm working on the new build Sainsbury's next week. If you want to have a face to face chat I will happily find half an hour one evening!!

Andy,

No dont send out letters without a decisions makers name on it.  It really is putting alot of money down the drain.  You need to research, phone etc.  Dont send letters at all is my advice, without making contact first.  Your sending blind, you need to ring up find out who deals with this, who they currently use, would they consider an alternative quote, building relations.  Your aim is an appointment

Hope that helps
