Installing a fully WFP system hot water from purefreedom
« on: October 02, 2010, 10:06:36 pm »
I just got it now, and I`m working on painting the floor in the car blue.

But there is no manual with this set on how to install is.

1. Have a 2011 VW Transporter, have removed the wooden floor so that I could paint.
But should I remove it totally - this wooden floor. And then drill holes in the metal floor of the car for the metal "cage" for the tank? Or should I just mount it on the wooden plate? (much easier)

2. It looks like there is a pipe for the smoke or something for this webasto - or the hot water system from purefreedom. Do I have to drill a big hole in the floor for that also? A bit scary perhaps? Or is it used for something else?

Is there anyone that have a purefreedom hot water system her that have seen this in action? :)
Any pictures perhaps? :)

Really want to get this working :)

I think you'd be better off ringing them up and getting the advice off them first hand.
Quite how you think mounting a tank on a wooden floor is going to do much i've no idea, then again i havn't seen your setup!!

Yes, hehe - I have thought or ringing them. But its soon Sunday - and I have some big commercial jobs waiting on me :) so I just wanted to use the time I have :) I am a bit eager to get the system up & running :)

Ive got a Vito and i left the wooden floor down and painted over the top and up over the arches. My system is bolted through the floor and chassis.
The pipe for the fumes goes through the floor, so yes you need to drill a hole. You should have some metal/ali plates to go around the hole you make. Also put some hammerite or something around the hole before the plates.

So are you saying you paid god knows how much for a hot water system, and they never gave you any idea how to install or operate it?

Just phone Purefreedom and they will tell you anything you need.
I,ve got their hot system and you just turn the switch and off it goes.
Why did you not let them fit it????
They fitted mine and it don,t look a 5 min job.
Took all day, well pleased!!!!!!
