Have one of these to clean, but never done one before. Thin Marks and Sparks rug, that could do well in a washing machine
. Is it low moisture bonnet or hwe with a drimaster? or any other thoughts.

Most of the cotton chenille flatweaves are made in India
and are cheap, despie being rich in colour they are usually colourfast.
Level of soil will dictate your cleaning process.

These can be L/M cleaned, suggest mist of M/S agitate and acidic rinse with the dri master.
These rugs tend to go wavy on the edges if not L/M. Best to do off site.

Hi,
If its dirty, Ben harper has a tune on you tube called "walk away", for better visuals the christina auguleria version suffices.
Sums it up, esp if you didnt sell it right. Its white cotton, why bother? There be less hassle gold in dem der hills, mine it.

Graeme, its a mixture of browns and dark reds. I don`t think it would be white in front of a woodstove
and if it was white it wouldn`t need cleaned

Hi Gary,
I assumed it was white probably because i was asked to clean one yesterday. If its red check it for colour bleed as most red cotton i have tested sheds dye like there is no tomorrow.
I would treat it like wool, hwe and speed dry it. Like Paul says, they can distort a bit. I tried a suggestion from this forum once, big plank of wood and a weight on it. Seemed to work.
Goodluck
