BUSINESS ADD ONS ?
« on: September 12, 2010, 10:31:55 pm »
Hi Guys just wondered what the preferred add ons you have in your business - ie other than gutter cleaning and conny cleaning - any of you do associated cleaning areas like steam / pressure washing / carpet cleaning ?

if you have these or any other type of add ons is it to have a break from wcing
or to fill voids or s0me add ons lucrative when you can get the work?

any feedback would be interesting coz we want to go to the exhibtion in march to see what bolt on may be worthwhile.

I'm not being critical but in your "about us" section of your web site you have spelt "of"as "off" so it looks like 80% off (meaning discount) instead of 80% of clients.

Don't worry about it mr perfect can't get his capitals in the right place

Containing built In Urine Neutraliser.  Built in doh

Oh and your squeegee off is way to expensive I get it for £ 4.95 include vat at local store

Stop being critical it just makes you look like a nkob (meant to spell it wrong)

Gordon

I said i was not being critical, i didnt want it to look like it was 80% off.

And i will inform my bank manager that you are not going to buy our squeegee off, so to declare us bankrupt in the morning.

If you had pulled me on the same thing i'd have said thanks. 80% off, is different to 80% of customers.

Because window cleaners have a port folio of clients, these are great for marketing bolt on's, I moved into carpet cleaning while i was a window cleaner and found that my customers were pleased to use someone they already knew.

The same is true of Gutter clearing etc.

As an alternative point of view. Add ons are a distraction and take your mind off your core business. Although they might seem like good earners carpet cleaning and jet washing involve a lot of one offs and require constant advertising for new customers.

Better to stay focussed. A new window cleaning customer is repeat business for years to come plus referrals and picking up the neighbours as customers as well. Much better than a one off carpet clean.

If you are going to trawl for customers trawl for window cleaning customers.

for me personally im happy with a regular (mainly 4 weekly)  round with a few commercial and some bigger country houses on 2 monthly.i do conservatory roof/fascia/soffit cleaning as well.it keeps me busy and im very happy!

as for adding carpet cleaning, pressure washing i think some guys mix the both but dont forget you ll need another van(or a bigger van)and the expensive equipment.

id much rather not spread myself too thinly.keep window cleaning as my main business with the outside add ons when asked.keeping costs/hassle/equipment to the essentials.but thats just for me! ;) ;D ;D

Not really an add on, but i also started pest control this year.

Very good business to get into, as long as you dont mind paying for ongoing advertising!!

Thats right, gosh you have a good memory. i am a London taxi driver but started window cleaning again to get me out of the cab one day a week. Since then I have moved over totally to window cleaning.

Don't miss being stuck in traffic for 12 hours a day. Window cleaning is better.
