I recently cleaned some upholstery in a conservatory with quarry tiles. Some overspray hit the tiles and has left a dull streaks my customer has informed me. She wants to know which product will remove these marks as everything she has tried will not work. Im concerned that there may be a bigger problem. Could m/s effect the glaze? Has anyone had similar problem and hpw did you deal with it.?

Microsplitter is sodium tripolyphosphate a sodium salt similar to the one you might put on your chips.

It is very water soluble and warm water should remove it.

It is highly unlikely to affect the glaze.

I wonder if someone has put traffic wax on the tiles?

 Traffic wax is a type of sealing product?

Literally, a thin coat of wax covering.

As Doug said, the glaze should be rock hard but the wax was just a thought. Over to Doug for the chemical stuff.

Used Split x premium. Ph9 and the area does have hard water but not really extreme.

I suspect there may be some insoluble salts causing this problem.

I would wipe it with a aweak acid, say vinegar, white would be better, first checking the quarry tile doesn't react in an inconspicuous area.

Not all Quarry tiles are glazed..Sounds to me as they have had a topical sealer applied to them and the
 microsplitter may have removed it.

I was cleaning my car windows once,As they were covered in water marks,sprayed some MS on which was extremely hard to remove,makes me wander if a large amount remains in carpets after extraction if it has dried somewhat.
Although it should still be wet when extracting

I have no hard floor experience so could you elaorate on the topical sealer reference and possibly suggest a remedy for this problem that would pacify a potentially awkard customer. Thanks

Topical sealers sit on top of the surface providing a visual effect and protection. More short term protection

  Impregnating sealer well they do just that and impregnate the surface. providing a longer term solution.
