How much do you think you should be looking to get for chewing gum removal from blockwork?
Per meter - heavily soiled?

total area is about 12,000 feet. So 1100 square meters. all blockwork. No sanding or sealing

2 men on 2 hot washers 2 nights (assuming it is being done at night of course) - £2200

so £2 per square metre

Hi Andy

Hope you're well and busy!!!

There are other factors possibly - Is the work to be done at night?. Is it a residential area - will there be noise restrictions.

If the work is to be carried out day or night what is the pedestrian footfall like?

Are you using pressure washers or dry steam?

Just done a store front in Balham over a couple of evenings and one very full night. In places there was 50 pieces of chewing gum per foot square. It was a residential area with medium footfall and serious noise restrictions.

All made the works take longer than they should have done!!!. Pricing is spot on!!!!!

Rob ;D

I would be using a hot washer(150 degrees - 15lpm on full pressure), and there is heavy pedestrian traffic. So it will have to be done at night.
So you think £2,200 sounds about right eh?

I was told by another pressure washing company to charge up to £5 per metre. Have you ever got those prices?

Maybe they were bidding for the same job and wanted you to over price yourself!?!

Matey, if you can get £5 a square metre then good on yer... I'll do it for you for £2 and you can sit at home and be fed peeled grapes by a comely wench!

heheh,

The guy that told me that had not been asked to do the job. II've known him for years and trust him.
Maybe thats why he doesnt do a lot of chewing gum removal though eh?

Looks like ive over priced this one then. Lesson learnt!

He's going to need to make a fortune to pay for a £20k machine!
Does he wash also or just gum removal?
