more help with pricing
« on: September 07, 2005, 05:14:08 pm »
Hi all, as many of you may know this is my first week i'm officialy a window cleaner. I'm also a carpet cleaner which i've been doing for a year.

on friday i have a quote for Mc donalds resturant and a school. Mc Donalds want a clean inside out 4 times a week all large windows. Havn't been to look at the job yet so couldn't tell you how many windows.
As for the school inside out next term.

I don't want to under price but at the same time i don't want to be working for peanuts.

I can't belive the responce i'm getting. Tuesday put in 1.5 hours into door knocking and got 4 domestic. Same day had a dentist appiontment and got my dentist surgery to clean once a month. This seems a little hard to belive as it is a lot harder to find carpet cleaning customers. Is this normal?

Kind Regards,
Rob.

Carefull with the MacDonalds quote.  You'll find - no doubt - the inside windows smeared with greasy hand-prints every time you go.

Use lots of the 'green stuff' and you've just got to hit the top and sides with your applicator to move the grease.

I do a shop with a bakery, once a fortnight, and the insides are always worse because of the 'grease film' on the windows.

There's a lot of dirty window cleaners!!

Yep be careful with fast food chains.  My experience same as Tosh, plus they don't pay enough and keep you waiting for money.
And....Stay off the burgers!!

Pj

wish you well. Plenty of work if you look for it.

weve been doin our macs for about 15 years and they do get really messy finger marks, gurkins stuck to windows etc, plus you have to start quite early before they open at 7,with regard to gettin paid all macs our indepediatly owned so it depends on the person i suppose, not a bad little job to start the mornin get a free cuppa out of it.

Thanks for the advice.
I thought it could be a problem with regards to plenty of greasy marks. Thats why they need them cleaning 4 times aweek.
Still none the wiser on what to charge?
The building is one of these flat pack building with plenty of large windows that go round a quarter of the building where the customers sit.
Daniel would you share with me what type of building you clean for macs and what you charge? robertsargeant@blueyonder.co.uk
also can anyone help me with regards to pricing the school.
Thanks for all the input,
Rob
