hI JOANNE,

WE RECENTLY CLEANED A COUPLE OF PROPERTIES FOR A GUY WE CLEAN OVENS FOR, I USED A HEAVY DUTY FOOD SAFE DE-GREASER ON THE ORANGE GROUT IN THE SHOWER, I USED IT NEAT WITH A GROUT BRUSH THEN A STEAMER AND IT SHIFTED IT NO PROBLEM, THERE IS PROBABLY A BETTER WAY AS I AM NEW TO CLEANING HOUSES BUT IT WORKED FOR US AND THE CLIENT SAID IT WAS THE FIRST TIME THE SHOWER AND BATHROOM HAD LOOKED SO CLEAN. HAPPY DAYS, HE HAS ASKED US TO CLEAN 10 MORE PROPERTIES.

harpic and then bleach has never let me down but then maybe i've never seen the really awful ones. if you try harpic/bleach make sure you wash all harpic off as much as possible as when mixed with bleach it creates a very toxic smell

Hi

The best thing I have used is Dettox Mould and Mildew remover.

It is a bleach based product, very powerful.

Spray and leave for 5 mins, then get your toobrush out and go at it (don't forget to give your own teeth a good brush after with the same brush  :-\ )

may need a couple of treatments, harpic is also very good, I use that all the time on my showers and tiles.

Buff up tiles at the end with window cleaner and kitchen towel (if you want to show off that is  ;) )

Regards

do you use eco-friendly products and normal cleaning products then.? we are eco friendly as well and i just wondered from some of your other posts if you use both and how this goes down with your customers. ours love eco-friendly and dont think it would go down well with them, just wondered how you get round this?

eco only for domestics unless they have really neglected their house and would like something removed that just isn't possible with eco products. eot cleans we use a mix though preference is eco of course and i'd say 90% is eco if not more most of the time. the only job thing so far we haven't found a good alternative for is bleach to remove mould in bathroom.

no eot customers has cared as they're moving out so no problem. domestics don't mind as said i ask first what they want us to do. spring cleans can be a pain as we've done a few where customer doesn't want toxic chemicals but wants something really clean.
