Whats happening with the water?
« on: June 24, 2010, 06:10:01 pm »
My tap water has always been between 80 and 120 tds tops,

now its regularly on 375 , or at best down to 250, and my ro is struggling to get it down...although it does come down to around 00.05,  my filters are taking some hammer,

has anyone else noticed its jumped right up?

Cheers.

This happens when your water companies use different reservoirs and switch over from one to the other, This is what I was told when I noticed mine going up and down and contacted my water supplier.

would some kind of softener at the outside tap help in any way....?

i have a 10" resin container for the 6 stage ro....but god knows where that is supposed to attach to lol.

Or maybe the water board is recycling the waste water and given it back to us.. ;D

What you are more likely to notice is that the presure is way down at the moment and that plays havoc with my RO unit. I reckon I am only getting half the production I would if the pressure was what it should be and I need more water for rinsing in the hot weather.

Going to have to look at a booster pump if it carries on.
