how easy isit?
i have a turbo nozzle,isit safe to use one on the decking?
do i need to use any chemicals or just water through the pressure washer!

Sugar.just. got rid of fsc as.it was gathering dust.
Maybe I can turn down pressure down on pressure washer?

use your lowest pressure and definitely not a turbo nozzle. cheap electic pw is best

DO NOT USE HIGH PRESSURE ON DECKING!!!

If its powerful enough to clean then it WILL DO DAMAGE!

Chemical cleaners are the way to go, & use the pressure washer with its lowest pressure nozzle held back 18" to rinse it off after.

There are 2 chems I use,...

Bleach is great, fast acting and effective, BUT it can grey the timber if you apply it too strong or leave it on too long.

Te second option is sodium percarbonate (Oxy bleach) which is peroxide based. It does the same job (a bit slower) but is less likely to remove the woods natural colour. You can still do damage if you leave it on too long, but it takes a lot more time to cause damage. Its also eco friendly as it degrades into water & ash after about 4 hours.

I buy direct from the manufacturer @ www.mistral.ie
They do a 15% Sodium Hypoclorite solution (bleach) that should be diluted 1:4 with water or even weaker before using it (standard household bleach is 5% max). One 25 litre drum would do the gutters, walls (its brilliant for cleaning algae off walls, just spray it on & the green  melts away), footpaths, driveway & decking for a large detached house. Its destroys your clothes though, so full waterproofs are needed & also pre-wet & rinse after any grass/plants/trees that might get hit by the overspray.
