Morning to all, hope you're all well.
We have been asked to quote to clean out a commecrial property in West Yorkshire.
The unit is 50,000 sq ft and there is a load of paperwork, metal, pallets, wood etc.. rubbish to clear away.
There is also some electrical equipment to be disposed of.
We have done some EOT cleans before, but nothing as big as this. Normally we just put everyhting in our vehicle and pay at the local tip to dispose of it.
But this job has too much rubbish for that, so we will have to hire skips in.
We are seeking advice in this area from anyone who has done or does this kind of work.
I have tried to get a spec list off of the client as to what they want cleaning / disposing of etc, but they don't have one.
I was just going to quote for office & toilet cleaning, carpets do not require clean.
Kitchen cleaning oven & extractor, but not filters.
Warehouse floor clearing and rubbish disposed of.
I was also going to state that we don't dispose of any chemicals etc.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I would also do a thorough survey and make sure there are no other hazardous materials to dispose of , eg , cylinders, tyres, asbestos, medical waste or paints. They can be disposed of  but they can mean big money.

They have told me all hazardous waste has been removed, but will check.
Normally we have done domestic work, not things lke this, so not as much to worry about on domestic.
Didn't want to quote then find out its going to cost me.
If I can get it though there's another 2 to quote for and both are similar jobs and possibly more on regular basis.
Just going through making up checklist for things to go through in each area of unit. Got site visit to take pictures so I know exactly what I'm up against.

hi there

these sound like dilapidation works, we have done several of these, you may find other trades on site doing other works.

are there any high level works, portals, cladding etc.

we would carry out a site survey with the client and then establish on the site visit what they are looking to achieve and more importantly the time line, as you may need to work long hours and weekends, and then you may be looking at ladding cleaning and ride on floor works.

i would be more than happy to discuss this with you further and in greater detaul as you may like to consider sub contract and then a commission on the job.

Thanks for  advice, but they contacted me and told me they've already put job  out to someone.
They needed quick turn round on job, I wasn't made aware of this at start.
But have asked them to give us chance to quote on future jobs.

thats a shame, but i find that is the case with a lot of these types of projects, they jnow for weeks before that they need to sort it, but they never do, and then expect to get a quick turnaround,

one example for me, was site visit thursday am, quoted on site, and signed contract whilst there, cherry pickers and scisssor lifts arrived friday, work started saturday am, completed on tuesday.
