wfp van insurance
« on: March 25, 2010, 07:24:58 pm »
I am looking to renew my policy in the morning for my relay swb has a 650l tank and frame fitted

Can I ask what others are paying ?

I have just been quoted £565 with 7 years no claim and protected.

I am honest when I get insurance telling about the water tank and it being fitted to the chassis, I know some dont but I would rather be insured correctly.
im 34 with three points on liecence ( speed cameras  ::) )

What are you paying  and who with.

Ian have you tried Alexander Swann?
I will be going with them when my insurance is due, I like the peace of mind that they supply a van with a system already inside. no loss of work.

They are a broker Ian, so will search other insurance companies for the best deal.
It might be a good idea to nip on their website.

HI Matt,
I found them too dear. I had a bump the van was away for a week and I was lent an escort van that I worked out of with a back pack. Not ideal, but I managed.

Ian.
Last year New 58 plate ducato 46 years full no claim bonus £300.
This years renewal after bump £504.
Through Swinton under written by equity red star.

I would recommend A plan with Equity, there are an excellent insurer, just don't accept their 1st offer if you need to make a claim.

Alexandria Swan I would not touch with a barge pole.

Ian... Not sure who mine is with as my wife sorts that out.

Try Autonet. I did some work there about 18 months ago fitting office furniture and got chatting to the directors.

Their 5 year plan is to get their name out there and take over the market in a big way.

They are keeping their proffit margins low to beat the competition till they are classed as a well known uk company.

A mate of mine rang them last and they beat his cheapest quote by £50.

As you know, be cheeky and ask if they can do it any better with it coming up to the end of the month. The sales teams have monthly targets to get their bonus, so even if they only made a fiver off you... It would increase the bonus paid as its o. A customer signed up scale ;)

Tell them you have your card in your hand and will pay now if they can do you a good price.
Only those who risk going too far will truly know how far they can actually go

No problem, with my claim they have brilliant, 1st class service.

Anyone else needing insurance quote ask for Adam Baxter ( A-plan 01993 841841 ) and tell him Darren Charman recommened  them and you will get a good quote.

It makes sense Ian did and everyone knows he not silly enough to take a stupid policy ou.

I tried autonet JP, they where £5 more expensive than A plan, but what they did not give was systems cover and pole cover in with the policy, and that was a winner for me as I normally paid about £100 per van for it.

when quoting I always use commercial V direct, Autonet, 4 counties, and now A plan as well :).

I would not ever touch insureyourmotor again or there umbrella companies also known as hyperformance ltd, way to many hassles with them

Why? I am with them and found them brilliant

Even get a courtesy van WITH REACH AND WASH SYSTEM if mine os off the road.

When my PPL came up for renewel the other week they quoted me a price that I thought was good so I accepted, the next day my normal insurer matched the price that Swan had given and because I have been with A Plan for years I decided to stay with them.

When I telephoned Alexandria Swan, they first said I could not cancel, when I pointed out that everyone has the right to cancel within 14 days, they said I would have to pay a charge of £25 for the work that they have done.

I have no problem with paying charges if I am aware of them in the 1st place, if they had told me that there would be a £25 charge if I cancelled, then I could accept it or not take out the policy in the 1st place.

They do have this in their terms & condititions but you are only going to find this out when the policy arrives days later when its too late.

and as for the replacement van, I saw it at Windex, and I would not be happy about driving a van without a bulkhead, don't forget if you have a crash its not only the water tank that can come into the driving cab, you have other smaller equipment that will kill you in a instance.
