Doorknockers - Paul Bass
« on: May 21, 2010, 07:08:52 pm »
Hi all,

My heads up opinion on Doorknockers GB (Paul Bass and his team)

How many of you guys out there are still owed money from cancellations after using Paul Bass (Doorknockers GB) to do any canvassing work for them ????

He still owes me £68.00 for cancellations - and i have left a number of messages on his voicemail which he has not returned and will not answer any calls. Not a great deal of money but is a good day out for my 5 year old son.

I have used Paul Bass and his team three times (last being December 2009) and although i think he is a reasonable chap - i do think you have to be 'on the ball' with him to get the best out of him.

His team have picked up some very good work for me - but on the flip side i have had some crap too. He also seem to mange to loose any business cards etc. that i give to him.

You need to stress your minimum charges and not accept any jobs priced  for less.  Make sure you say what to look out for when pricing - don't let hime fob you off with his infamous 'we know what to look for' phrase. As sometimes his team clearly don't.

It has been said on other threads before and i agree that really if you want the best you need to canvass youself.

If you don't have the time and are prepared to compromise slightly then use a canvassing company.

I'm owed about £500 in customers or £1000 cash back, I will be getting either when I get back to him.

don't let hime fob you off with his infamous 'we know what to look for' phrase.

Or the "i don't understand why there are so many cancellations? It has never been that many with anyone else?"

 ::)

Maybe if a full contract was signed by the customer it would eliminate any issues. It has done for me anyways

On his customer sheets he has a customer signature box - but he never seems to obtain the signature from the customer.

One other gripe - one time i specifically said DO NOT quote for any Conservatory roofs a separate or inclusive job with the windows - and guess what ??

They did - very badly underpriced too.

He sounds like the the man.

I had similar thoughts myself of building a canvassing team up.

I've used Paul's services many times over the years and he has always come good for me.

I expect to lose a percentage of any new customers whether canvassed by ourselves or someone else. Paul has always done his best for me. I have also used other companies and had decent experiences. It's all about expectations. Most of you lot expect top paid, easy to do work with every cancellation replaced. GET REAL....  Get off your own butts and go do a load of canvassing and see what results you get. A lot of you will get a good dose of reallity.

Paul has had his problems like most people do from time to time but always in the end he has resolved things to my satisfaction.

I am VERY wary of posts on forums slagging any company or individual off. If you haven't got the mental capacity to sort things out in private then perhaps you should rethink working for yourselves.

There has been enough said about him on here for ages and yet people still use him ??? Get out and canvass yourself, its the only way.
Canvassing companies mmmm, if you want to hand your hard earned money over after a days canvassing to a complete stranger, handed the round on the back of a fAg packet but with a full guarantee then i'm your man yawn ;)
