depends on 1 or 2 people working (xtra £80+kg weight)

I have a 500ltr (Well, it's 650 as I already had it but only filled to 500) in a ford connect. 1 man go for 220 model, 1 or 2 man go for 230 (900kg payload)

1 man working - at least a 700/800kg payload
2 man working - at least a 900kg payload

So Peugeot Expert/ Citroen Dispatch/ Fiat Scudo up to 07 plate would tick the boxes and let you carry a backpack and a couple of 25L containers for it on top.
It's a game of three halves!

agree with the other posts. Reason I went for the connect is 1stly because I do a lot of driving so it's more like driving a van than a car. 2nd, It's smaller and easier to drive around but large enough for a tank, 2 reels etc. I have a full bulkhead but have cut holes and put 2 wastepipes through to hold the poles so they fit inside.

Peugeot partner 2.0 l HDi. Brilliant van, 800 kg payload, carries 500l tank no probs, and still loads of oomph even when tank full first thing in the morning.
