the wonder wand is designed to be used at about 400 psi  or not enough water is hitting the carpet.  If you are using at 250 sure you will produce loads of heat but you wont be flushing the carpet correctly and leaving pre spray behind. at 400 you will be flushing correctly but heat will reduce obviously as flow rate is increased.

The wonder wand ( i have used one consideable amount of time) will leave the carpets drier but will clean as good as a conventional wand.

thats the problem terry at low pressure the WW recovers most of the solution before it hits the carpet that is why it gives h impression of drier carpets

True, I use mine usually at 400 psi, 500 if badly soiled, you can use the hand tool at less psi though.

Alot will depend on carpet type level of soiling. expect amtech told you to us M/S  one step i presume because is a safe option.

try some of solutions M/S much better IMO.

I really only use M/S on maintanance cleans ( basically when cleanng clean carpets)

I carry 4 dif type of carpet pre spray in the van and they all have there use in a variety of situatons.

There is no one fix for all situations Terry.

What I do recommend is you keep to prespraying (whatever it takes), aggitation, and rinsing with just clean water.
Carry various spotters for the bits that dont come out with the prespray.

and I agree with what Richard said earlier re pressure and the wonderwand. Due to its technology, you do need to run at higher pressure (or so I was told)
I had a winderwand with my CFR500, and I used it at 500psi, but the water was being recycled in that machine so usage (topping up) wasnt an issue.

interesting :-\ I will moniter this and see how things go  :-\ I know you like ww or you hate them, but I did notice it did prefer higher psi when using it,eg I went from 200psi to just under 300 psi which did seem to work better time will tell and I will report my findings hopefully all good :-\

adam

yes solutions standard M/S is fine on wool.  i believe its better but dont use much M/S not a massive believer. Itend to nuke it neutralise at the end of the day the custy wants clean and couldnt give two hoots about being eco friendly.

So whats your preferred prespray Richard??

obviously depending on carpet type.

for synthetics i do get great results with powerburst even use it on trashed wool. pre spray gold is pretty good too and ultrapac renovate on polyprop
