Help with pole choice
« on: August 06, 2005, 11:38:01 pm »
Hi all , am gonna get wfp soon and cant make my mind up which pole to go for, its the 125L system from wintec , im going to upgrade the pole to the universal but i dont know which size to go for ..... 4 sec , 22 foot
                                                         or   5 sec , 27 foot

At the moment i only do normal houses , some of them are old with high cielings , the 22 foot pole should do it , but the  27 foot pole works out to only £12 more and im wondering if i should go for that instead , that way if i get any higher work i wont have to buy another pole ..
The thing is , will the 27 foot pole be long enough for G,1,2 Floor properties ?

Also are the sections removable ?
No need to carry the spare section if im not using it is there .

  All help greatly appreciated

Hiya Rich,

I'd get the the 22' one if you're doing mainly residential. Probably the extra bulk of the 27 will get tiring when you're flying around average houses. 22' will be enough for all residential I'd think and some commercial. Don't know if the sections are removeable - but my mate with 18' just extends and retracts.

I presently use Ionic poles
on a daily basis I use the 18ft domestic this size does me for nearly all my jobs including commercial it's lighter than the larger poles,
I,ve also got a 28ft commercial pole that i find useful for two storey buildings.

I've found it works better having the two poles because there are times when you need a larger pole for a couple of windows and it's a lot of hassle adding sections

Well i have sorted out the pole dilema , and i managed to get the whole system cheaper too , i printed off the wintecs spec and prices and took them to my local wholesaler and asked his opinion , it had the desired effect  as he then saw that i money to spend and he bent over backwards to get my money, hes going to supply all the same gear except the pole which is a 24 foot streamline , he then knocked £60 off the price of the pole.
I asked why and he said "Cos its green mate"     ??? ??? ???
Turns out he only wants to sell orange ones from now on , strange !
Still , who cares what colour the pole is if its £60 less
Oh and he gave me a 175L tank instead of a 125L at no extra cost
