fault with old Extracta
« on: April 21, 2010, 06:28:19 pm »
I'm having a problem with an old Extracta machine that I use as a spare. The machine trips the electrics in some homes but not in others.......any ideas?

You have an electrical fault on the machine. RCD's are there to detect any fluctuation in the power and 'trip' if one is detected.

Not familiar with these machines but I had a similar fault. Open it up and check all the earth cables are secure. Alternatively check switches and cables for shorts/lose wires/bared cable. Finally check there is no water getting inside, particularly when filling the solution tank. Failing that have an electrician check it for you or get yourself a multi meter.

Happy hunting!
