Canvassing in the rain
« on: November 07, 2010, 09:35:23 pm »
I am looking to start a canvassing/leafleting drive this coming week for window cleaning/gutter clearance but the weather forecast doesn't sound to good (heavy rain/windy), does this affect the response that you will get from customers if it's raining? or if a customer needs/wants a window cleaner then they will say yes whatever weather or time of year you are?  ???

i've never canvassed in the rain, so cant say if you get same response...

i have only canvassed when weather is fair, now approaching 500 customers after just over a year in the trade  ;)

I started this time last year, and a couple of times i ended up canvassing in the rain as it started whilst i was out, Did not seem to have any effect on the results, It was pitch black and cold anyway. only thing was very odd one did not want to open gate in the rain to quote, So I just went back another day

Good move- targetting the "pink pound".
I bet you still get PIA customers though, let us know when you do.

That`s great. I`ve heard the gay community are very house proud, so you should get lots of customers.
I don`t know about wedding bells but if you`re prepared to take one for the team to build a round, good luck to you.

I canvass no matter what the weather it has never made a difference.

I canvassed in the snow once and had people feeling sorry for me. I think they appreciate the determination and it shows them that you are committed. Its a good impression to give when being professional

Good luck

Danny
