Conservatory roof stains
« on: May 09, 2010, 07:34:30 pm »
Hi Guys,

Has anyone come across yellow staining on polycarbonate roofs as have seen a few recently and would like to try and remove it ;)

It seems to be only on sections of the roof and appears to be where the water runs down from the top cresting/cover!!!

Cheers

just baffle them with  science m8, i havent come across it to be honest! there isnt alot of pressure you can get on a con roof unless you have a ladder and i wouldnt personally use one anyway,as you can cause broken seals etc. spray raffic film, and if that doesnt work use a cream cleaner with a used green pad and if that doesnt work just explain to customer that it is impossible to remove. u can use cream cleaner via a waterfed pole with a strap and it works a treat. i have never had a complaint, and this kind of work is on the increase/..

Alan...it is exposure to uv rays that causes it.Why it happens on some sheets and not others is still a mystery to me,but not a lot can be done about it. :)

Hello Alan,

I'm have to agree with everyone else.  It is definetly down to uv rays bleaching the polycarbonate panels.

I would just tell the customer that you do get the odd faulty panels.

I do plenty of conservatory roof cleans, with no problems.

Hope this has helped.

Kind regards. :)
