Rectus 21 8mm Hosetail - male and female.

There seems to be so many price variations on them.
Where do you go for your supplies ?

Dave be careful, as there are cheaper versions of the rectus 21 fittings.

I use Rectus 21, and have frequent problems with the female end sticking. Frustrating as hell.

Yet another piece of WFP equipment that is not designed for the job, yet adapted as a "make do".

Someone needs to develop WFP equipment from scratch, with WFP in mind, not "oh that will fit, and that will do for a while" approach. I am really astounded at the lack of quality in the equipment we are forced to pay a premium for.

Rant over.

Or is it?!

Gardiners sell only the genuine Rectus fittings, not cheaper, inferior versions that fall apart more quickly.

Most hydraulic hose suppliers will stock them. My local supplier is Hyphose. A national supplier is Pirtek.

       Matt

place a small ball ( kittens toy type) on the end of the pipe just behind the male part of the connector ,

it won't eliminate the problem !.

but it will stop the contact with the floor thus saving your end taking a bashing!!!

       Good luck

I used to have one of those balls, but it used to catch on EVERYTHING!!!!

Another thing with the Rectus fittings is that when you pull it as hard as you can it never comes apart, but just move on to the next window and you find it has come out!!! grrrrrrr!!
You can't polish a turd

The ball stops that  ;D

I chopped my balls off and had nothing but trouble afterwards. Stuck them back on now. Connector never comes apart.

Rectus 25 or 26 KA. You can get them from Parkland Engineering. Cheaper for pole ends slightly more for hose ends.
