« on: February 20, 2010, 04:14:27 pm »
Say that with no teeth in! Anyone have any idea why this should happen. If I put the pressure up maximum to 500psi no problem, as soom as I pull trigger it drops to 100psi and it stays at 100psi?????? Does anyone know why this happens. Thanks in advance.

Cheers!

I had the same problem with the 500 powerflite machine, using a 3 jet wonderwand. It has a smaller  500 psi pump so can`t maintain a steady back pressure when the trigger is opened, thus dropping off.  The pump was ok with a 2 jet wonder wand, or 1 jet upholstery tool. You could try smaller jets, but it is good for the pump, as not running such high psi.

It could well be air in the system, try to purge the pump and get all the air out. Best way is drop the priming hose into a bucket and turn the pressure numpty about 3 turns and let the air bubble out. Once it seems the bubbles have stopped then turn pressure all the way up.then releave pressure backdown and  attach the wand etc. I had a similar problem and noticed the handtool wasn't trouble as much as the wand when there was air in the system!!

I was hoping it was something like this. So do I do this with clean water in the tank? How long do you think it would take to clear? Sorry I'm thick as pig poo!

With most pumps you can get repair kits so you can renovate the pump head or get a new pump head if the motors ok.

I would recycle the water yes water hate filling porties  ;D

Pump head red about £280 black £235 don’t know how much the blue one is?

Striping/fitting depends on how competent you are! Bearing I would renew as a matter of course  ;)(don’t use a puller too remove it’s threaded) oh buying a new head may be cost effective  ???

I'm gonna de-scale this morning and see if I have an air lock. Hopefully this will solve it, I doubt it knowing my luck, but fingers crossed.

You may need to replace the valves inside the pump..thats a common cause of loss of pressure..not very expensive

There is a god! Just an air lock. Once again you guys came up trumps! Many thanks, much appreciated. If I can ever return the favour, just ask.
