DIY pipe carrier help please
« on: January 31, 2010, 02:30:17 pm »
i made one with a waste pipe from screw fix a while back and it works fine but the one i bought has a few probs.

main prob is that the screw on lid coupler makes the gap for the pole smaller as it has a slight neck which narrows down the size.

was fine for my shorter poles but now im getting longer poles they are fatter and dont fit through the narrow gap on the screw lid. have looked around for a different size srew fit lid coupler for it but no luck.

so im know looking to make another pipe carrier - looking for one that has the same size gap on the lid than the pipe.

any help please guys - suppliers and links would be great.

thank you

no sorry i havent. its a 2m long black soil pipe and just put the plastic clips round it and bolted it down to the roof rack.

where did you buy the bits from? did you cut a gap on the end so the brush can stick it with lid on?

Got mine on the inside of the van, will take a pic in a min and post. Its not pretty at all, but does the job.

The pipe i use was actually a 3m tube on my brother in laws work van roof rack. They got new ones and he let me have the new one before it went in the skip

Ive got an old expert

Heres the pictures of my pole carrier that i did earlier today

This one is 2 x 1m tubes boxed in over the arches for my modular fishing pole

Next is 1 x 1m tube hanging from the side with washing line fed through two hole either side of the tube. The pole inside it is a converted harris pole.

A window cleaner by me has a large waste pipe fixed to his roof rack with a pole at each end. So two poles per tube.

At the end of each it a strap that keeps the pole in by holding the brush

I would be interested to know about this, I have a bt one on the roof never used to store poles in, rarely used to take a pole to the job.
