man eating tortoise
« on: June 21, 2005, 11:38:53 pm »
Got a call from yellow pages to do a quote for cleaning the gutters (wfp) every 6 months and cleaning the windows (wfp) every 4 weeks, went to price it up yesterday, nice job, big house wealthy people, priced the windows @ £30 and gutters @ £110 total £140, the lady of the house ask me if I could fit her in the next day, as I already had a hetic day I said I could do it but would have to be an early start at 8-00am (and that’s really early for me) no probs she says, “ will be out at that time taking the kids to school but please carry on and I will see after 9-00am, oh and by the way watch out for the man eating tortoise around the back” thinking she was joking I said okay see you tomorrow, so turned up this morning at 8-30am (I knew 8-00am  was asking to much) anyway I did the 3 sides of the house leaving the back till last totally forgetting about the man eating tortoise, so there I am setting up my wfp and my lad shouts out “hey dad look at that big turtle, I look round and have to correct my son, it’s not a big turtle it’s a bl**dy great big tortoise. Now believe it or not this thing started to attack me and bite my ankles, it was only my work boots that saved me from being his next meal, it got so bad that my boy had to fend him off  with a stick so I could carry on with the work. I’ve been attacked by humans and dogs before but the tortoise was a first for me, we decided to nickname him Terry The Terrible Tortoise, anyway on a good note the job is gonna be a regular @ a good price so I don’t mind. ;D

One of my customers has a rabid rabbit like that!

Jay, just a tip, Mate; I had to wade though your post.  Make it less of an effort for us readers by breaking it up into paragraphs.

No offence intended or implied.

Regards,

Tosh.
